Wilderness & Remote
First Aid (WRFA)
Do you want your staff to have the confidence and training to respond to emergency situations in remote or wilderness settings? Penn Trails is proud to be a national Licensed Training Provider for the American Red Cross. We specialize in teaching hands-on WRFA first for agencies, organizations and the public including PA DCNR, US Forest Service, US Army War College and others, with Penn Trails instructors who have real world experience and credentials in those settings. Penn Trails Wilderness & Remote First Aid ("WRFA") instructors are trained and certified to teach courses that conform with the current guidelines and scope of practice for WRFA courses developed by the American Red Cross, as well as, the guidelines published in the journal of Wilderness & Environmental Medicine journal [24, 456–462, 2013] As stated in the journal guidelines, "it is the responsibility of each organization or individual choosing medical training to understand their own individual or institutional needs."
